I worked for a dealer starting around 1970 that sold Dolmar, Stihl, and Homelite. Parts support was never great for Dolmar or Stihl. But, Stihl built a presence in the USA via Viriginia Beach and worked at the US market a lot more then Dolmar did. So, Stihl got better with USA support. That was way before the Internet exisited.
Now with the Internet and access to parts all over the world? I can get parts for Dolmars just as easy as for Stihl. In fact, I recently needed a part for one of my Stihls and Stihl-USA told me "no parts available." So, I used the Net to look for parts in Europe and got my parts shipped to me from West Germany.
