Paul & others pointed out terrible ice/snow/mud capability & the over width. One of the reasons the classic army "Duce & a 1/2" truck is a tandam dual axel with single wheels rather than duals on a single rear axle.
The dualy is much more stable ( less wondering & leaning) if hauling in crosswinds or trailers of cattle if they are tramping around.
