$3000-8000? really good money for such a thing. But, how can one be sure if it is really antique or a duplicated one only? I'm not saying Howard's item is not antique, but from my experiences in other art&antqiue fields, i've seen many so-called antique items. While we are at this point; how can the differences between the real antiques and so-called antiques (duplications) be understood? ps: you don't have any expensive scientific tools such as C14 (Carbon 14) age determination technique. However, even C14 is not so sensitive to the age differences up to 100 years.
