This probably varies from region to region, so it's good it came up. :) Around here, checks are the same as cash. You'd need to be more specific if you did not want a check. So, if we advertise things on the internet with such a wide audience, it's probably a good idea to get really specific. (Which, people don't - we've all seen the ad with no price, no location, no phone number, & a fake e-mail address - how do _they_ expect to sell anything! But, I'm ranting, one of my pet peeves, forgive me. :) I was auditied 20 years ago. Those hand receipts, with no check stub, kinda get looked over pretty closely. They track down big withdrawls & big deposits of cash. Just seemed easier to have those check stubs - cash money transactions seemed to draw lots of attention, but heck my bank doesn't even return them any more, just a photocopy you can't read, 12 to a page, so I guess that's all moot. I certainly understand the concern of someone coming from out-of state, writing a check for $2000, and driving off with the goods...... Certainly something to protect yourself.
