I did this when I bought my tractor. I gave the guy a check for the full amount. The purchase included him delivering the equipment to me 40 miles away. I went to the bank, got the cash, traded the cash for the check when he delivered. This was a transaction between two honest men so it was not a problem. My wife says I'm more trusting than most people, but I can't help it. That's how I was raised.
