On our MH50 with the Z134 gas engine I found that the oil pump was geared to the crank. So I installed the pump, put on the pan and filled it with oil as normal. I took off the power lead to the coil and thencranked the engine until I saw the oil pressure gage move over. Hooked the coil back up and the engine fired. It would probably help a little to run some engine oil through the pump before you installed it.
