Adam, when the clam shell finders on my JD 1020 rusted, i was left with no reasonable option but to make my own. i opted for the flat top like the larger jd and others had. flat plate with holes for axle u bolts. flat metal reinforced with radial lengths of angle iron on wheel side. cut(ripped) 3" sch 40 pipe to make inner and outer radiused corners, sheet metal flat top between the corners, recessed front with auto driving lignts, recessed back with tail lights. ground and smoothed with bondo primed and painted. noproblems,would do it again rather than pay moonshot prices. wish i knew how to get sketches on my post.
