I feel for you folks I'm 63 and my hearing is perfect (can't see worth a crap) been around a lot of loud noises all my life without hearing protection. Now as for having the ringing in the ears since a young age I have a couple friends who have had it for like forever but they grew up on a dairy farm and their parents always used milk right out of the can or cooler one got Reuhmatic fever and wears two hearing aids the other has always had ringing in his ears but their parents never pasteurized their milk but my mom always did "God bless her" so just maybe one possible cause. HBP can cause it in some cases I'm not a doctor. Again my hearing has saved me and several others a few times in Viet Nam and I can't imagine not hearing well. Good Luck.
