While we are on fence post I have got to ask. Anyone ever hafe fence post float out of the ground during a flood. Had over a 1/2 mile of wat I call split rail fence where three rails go in holes in a post about 4 by 6. Thes post were in the ground 30 inches or mor for the last 12 years and when the river backed in on us wqater went over the fence about 8 ft deep. Most if not all of the post floated away.. I just could not believe it. Not current or swift water forcing the post over they just floated out of the ground.. Guess we just did not tamp them in good enough..
