Brush hog heighth part II

Thanx to all the replies. I have discovered thru your help and my manual that I indeed have the selector lever in the wrong position. My problem now is that I cannot get this lever to go in the vertical position.The lever goes up, but it doesn't click into position. It just goes right back down to the horizontal position.Is there a trick to this? Does the tractor or the lift control lever need to be in a certain position? Your replies will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
