Sensible post, Mike. I agree with you.

I don't know any census takers, but they're not government spies.

They are just ordinary local people hired to do the census and are just trying to make a living.

They have been at my house twice after I sent off the questionaire, but I don't care. They are just being consciencious in trying to do a good job.

It's probably easy to get mixed up and have to go back for one reason or other. There has to be a lot of paperwork and forms they have to fill out.

They're not trying to find out personal secrets. They're just trying to get a reliable count.

I would think that it's not that easy of a job. They have to encounter bad dogs, mean people, pouring rain, muddy roads.



And I'm sure it's a tiresome job, both mentally and physically.

They have to be physically fit because of the amount of walking, climbing steps, etc. Not to mention running from bad dogs and mean people. LOL

The ones that came to my door were friendly and courteous, and I treated them likewise.

It doesn't hurt to be neighborly to people.
