We installed a Seimens 20K unit last fall. Also installed an SE rated auto transfer switch. Switches the whole house load before the pane. "Simpler" to install rather than the transfer switches that only switch X number of circuits. Came equipped to run on LP or natural gas, just took a very simple adustment at the carb to change. Installed a 500 gallon tank as we have no NG. Specs state it will run about 12 days continuous at 1/2 load. Auto exercises every Monday at 8:00 AM. Pretty simple maintenance, oil change every year or 200 hrs. Battery charger included. 999 CC OHV engine, manufactured for the application. Here in SW MO, severe storms have had our power off for over 3 days in a very warm May, and ice storms 2 years in a row have taken power off for a combined total of 19 days. Since installed, it's cycled on three times. Automatic transfer takes place after power is off for 15 seconds, generates until power is restored. Generac makes a lot of the units you see branded under different names. Prices are also pretty much fixed. We studied long and hard before we plunked down the money for it. Mark
