SBD dive bombers from the Enterprise and Yorktown sunk three of the four Japanese carriers in a period of five minutes. The fourth carrier got off two strikes which crippled and eventually led to the sinking of the Yorktown by a Japanese submarine. The fourth carrier was sunk shortly thereafter.
