i hate that too, city folks or temporary residents who arnt willing to take care of there pet have no buiseness with them, and espically bringing thenm out in the country for us to deal with, where i live there is abundant game of all sizes from gophers to bears and mountain lions on the top of the food chain, but domestic dogs do not have the hunting skills to live off the land like coyotes foxes and wolves do, we have 3 dogs on the farm, 1 was adopted from the shelter, got her as she reminded me of a dog i had as a kid, the other 2 were riding the grub line and obviously had been for quite awhile before they stopped off here, 1 was a visla, and turns out, after i got some meat back on his bones, he's the best dog ive ever had, dont know if its the breed or he;s just that glad to have a permanant home with ample food, the other is the oddest critter ive ever seen he;s apparently half german shepard, and half bassethound 2 feet tall and 4 feet long lol , great personality, his only problem is he likes to herd animals, he heards cattle, tried to heard horses, and cant pull that off as they each have their own pen and stall , and also goats,[ left over from kids goat tying, some years ago] even if you dont want a cow or a goat at that particular time for anything, 'buddy' will heard them togeather, and get one for you , still cant break him of doing that
