Check the starter safty switch on the gear box by ducking your head under the cab behind the right side step, you can just about reach it, or pull up the floor mat and go through the 'heel' plate. Temporay diagnosis by by-pass, ensure out of gear and fuel control in 'stop' when testing. If diagnosed replace switch Under the dash panel, left side behind the side panel where the knob for the radiator blind is (where fitted), you will find the starter relays, teporary diagnosis by substituting with the cab heater fan relay. Standard 12v relays available locally. Relays mounted on a steel strap which also acts as ground, check for proper grounding. The series/parrallel relay between the batteries has 2 80A fusable links, check them but you should hear the starter relays under the dash working. The unit can be dismantled and the contacts dressed, I have had wires inside fail and successfully repaired by soldering in replacements. The unit is not peculiar to Belarus and I have used Western made replacements in the past, also some Jap early Nissan patrols used them
