Use ether, i.e., starting fluid. Put it on a rag and hold it over the mouth/nose of poor kitty (if the ol' cat will tolerate it without scratching yer eyes out). It is basically the same ether as used to be use on people. Had to shoot my dog not so long ago.... it is never easy. My condolences. Cal
