Well, I don't know. My Social Security is 14.88 an hour based on a 40 hour week. I don't think I'd be temped to get out of bed for 11.30. I must admit thought the last year I worked was 2002 and I made more than 190 thousand that year. Needless to say I wasn't a welder but have hired hundreds of them. Reasonable pay for a certified welder to me is 23+ per hour. A rig welder should get 50+. Your obligation is to give a good days work for a good days pay. Many people are willing to take the pay but are non-producers. The bottom line is you have to decide for yourself what you need and what you are welling to work for.
