No one open today so I can't try filters yet, instead I decided to try running it again. It started right up, ran smooth, didn't lug down when I operated the hydraulics, so I continued digging out the rest of the old footer. After about 30 minutes I noticed it was starting to lug the engine again and in about another 15 - 20 minutes it was as bad as yesterday, I think the engine running rough was due to being lugged down. My oil temp gauge for the hydraulics is not getting hot nor am I noticing any other problems. Could a problem with the unloading valve cause this, or a blocked hyd. filter?
