It seems that every weekend at the farm something breaks down.
When we cut hay a week ago, one of our most dependable tractors locked up in 3rd gear after just 3 passes with the hay cutter. When James headed back to the house with it, it quit moving altogether in the middle of the highway and we had to push it across the road. There's more to this story, but that's enough.
Last weekend when we raked and baled and while none of the farm equipment failed, the refrigerator quit. $900.
We took off Wed to go fertilize the hayfield because it was supposed to rain. It was so damp, the fertilizer didn't fall right and the buggy was leaving a swath about 8 inches wide of heavy fertilizer. I'm concerned it will burn the grass.
Worst thing, I had the camera case with me in the hayfield. Took a couple of videos of James putting out the fertilizer, then walked around the hayfield picking up small piles of hay that the rake/baler missed. Last night when James went to get the video camera out of the case to download the videos, no camera. It must have fallen out of the case at the hayfield. Couldn't sleep last night for worrying about it.
Feel like if it weren't for bad luck, we wouldn't have any luck at all.
