Spinal stenosis and facet nerve problems is what I have. The spinal cord runs through your vertebrae, and stenosis is the narrowing of the space available for the cord.,..thus the pain you get when it is being constantly pinched, aggravated by motion. Facet nerves radiate horizontally from between the vertebrae, and add to your pain when being pinched. Chiropractic manipulation using stretching, bending, etc, opens up the spaces at least temporarily where the facet nerves go through. Inversion can do the same thing. Surgery can provide more space, but like you, want to put it off as much as possible. I get 9-10 months of considerable relief from steroid injections. Just had the third one last Monday- very much better. Many days this Spring it was almost impossible to walk- should have been using crutches.....five minutes later I might feel pretty good- just like an off/on switch.
