Yes, so much gets destroyed and put in the landfill and so many trees are cut down to replace 'em. Seems really stupid! When you have so many people unemployed, couldn't you hire a crew of say 20-30 people to tear it all apart and save all the good stuff? There's one unemployment solution that is also earth friendly. Nope, it's gotta be done as quick as possible, time is money.........sad!
I look at shows like Extreme Makeover Home Edition and shake my head. Here they are trying to "help" some poor unfortunate family and all they do is celebrate the destruction they cause and don't save a stick of lumber.Then build in a week a home that is way over the top. I have heard of families that can't afford to pay the taxes and heat bills for some of the palaces they build. And seriously, how good can the work be? You can't build anything in seven days! Just my $0.02
Could those portables not be moved elsewhere and maybe used for housing or perhaps as classrooms somewhere else? Isn't that why they are portables?
