Richards tests sound correct for a24 volt belarus but I have never seen this setup on a 400 series.Does it have a parallel switch?where is it located.They used to have a relay to keep you from engaging the starter when the tractor was running that was wired to the alternator.I dont know why they would need 24 v to start a engine with a compression release.when you hold the key switch to the first notch was for pre heating the glow plugs.
