Bob, Til you get real familiar with old tractors, and trailers, no.1, park the whole rig on nice flat ground. no.2 Block the trailer and tow rig wheels. no.3 have a helping hand to steer the tractor and run the brakes. A trailer with permanent winch is great, or like the other guy said a good stout comealong. Sometimes mistakes are only made once, better safe than sorry. John in Nebr. and good luck with the A.
