Bureau of Land Management shows they acquired land in Muskingum County, Ohio about 1816 thru 1820 and moved there, later they moved on to Guthrie County, Iowa which is west of Des Moines.
John's son Nathan is my line. b. 1804, d. 1868.
Nathan's son George is my line. b. 1834, d. 1905
George's son Chauncey Evans Barr (C.E.) was my maternal line grandfather in which the information was about. ---- I hope someday I can get back past John and then maybe I can find out what country we came from. The problem for me is that there were many John Barrs living in the same area
In researching the Barr name I learned they came to the U.S. from Scotland, Ireland, England, France, Germany, and one of the countries such as Sweden.
