I drove to the field I am cutting for hay and got busy raking the hay I'd mowed on Saturday. Everything going just fine. Then I looked back and the rake wasn't turning! The gearbox went out. I can't really complain, I only paid $35 for the rake at an auction and that was four years ago....
Soooo, I take the chain off and haul the rake up to the end of the field. Who can I borrow a rake from???? Okay, got that worked out on the cell phone. Went to unpin the dead rake and noticed that I had blown one of the hydraulic hoses on my D19. GRRR! Okay, it's not leaking bad, I'll go get the borrowed rake with the pickup and rake the hay and while it is setting I'll get the hose fixed.
Jumped in the truck and drove a couple of miles down the road. A terrible wobble developed in the rear of the truck. When I got there, it turned out that the tread was in the process of peeling off the driver's side rear tire. Guess where the spare was....at home.
Babied the truck and rake back to the field. Called my wife and she came with the spare. Raked the hay and then changed the tire and drove home. I am now cooling down while she is in town getting the hydraulic hose replaced.
Let's see, did I forget anything? Oh, yeah. The nice hot dry weather for this week has turned into a thunderstorm watch this afternoon.
Like I said, I should have kept my mouth shut and just made the hay quietly :>(!
