Check state laws on hunting varmits on your property, concealed carry laws. Iowa concealed carry laws has/had a section on carrying loaded firearms for hunting in/on vehicle- couple quirks about deer season and road but brother and friend with license said could handle raccoons and pests OK legally. Another guy used to carry single shot .22 rifle on JD60, was pretty good at throttle down, pull clutch lever back, pull little rifle from scabbard and shoot- DNR refused him a license for the nearby lake area, said they had seen him collect close to limit on his own fields of pheasants and couple ducks so leave some for rest of hunters- they noted he'd paid for small game, etc license for private use and just wanted to keep records straight on how many he'd taken. Might need to check for a pest control permit like some states seem to have as hunting license loophole. If legal (or you are discrete when being illegal) then may I suggest the Savage 24 camper with short rifle and shotgun barrels or the 24V with .22mag over 20 gauge. RN
