Had an uncle who bought a new two tone blue Hudson Commodore 8 4 dr. in 1948 with money he had saved during his 5 year hitch in the USAF. The Hudson was a fine car EXCEPT for 2 serious faults...it wouldn't start if the temp was below 20 degrees and it leaked dust something awful...and living up a mile and a half of gravel road, that wasn't good. I pulled it many mornings with the old W-6 to get uncle off to work at the local Monkey Wards and also helped him trying to stop the dust leaks...to no avail. He finally traded it for a new '50 Pontiac Catalina hardtop...another nice car I borrowed for a couple of "special" dates.
