The media went beserk over a barely Category 1 hurricane, what would they do if another Beulah came ashore right at the mouth of the Rio Grande.
One thing the useless media did NOT say, is that it is not all that uncommon to get heavy rains at any time between La Feria and the coast. And what do they think the floodways were built for? The colonias and anyplace in Mexico are going to flood if someone peas in the road ditch, so there is nothing unusual about that, all one has to remember is that the Rio Grande Valley is barely one step above 'living' in Old Mexico. The best thing that could have happened would have been for all the low life media trash who were shacked up and drunk on South Padre Island to get washed out to sea. No telling how much they managed to steal from the stores and shops that closed up and were left unattended.
