oats hay update

Just baled the oats today for hay. Cut it on Wednesday with our smaller 9' New Idea 290 moco with the wings spread wide open, let it sit thursday and raked it yesterday (Friday) evening with the neighbors wheel rake as ours wouldn't pick it up very well.

Baled it today. Got 605 bales (4 loads) from roughly 8 acres. Tied the cows in on some tonight just to see how they like it and they sure weren't complaining. Won't be much milk in it, but it'll mainly be fed to the heifers and steers, and it's better than nothing. The grain was dried out in it very well. Tried to squeeze it but it was dried out and hard. Had milk when I cut it so I think that's plenty dry. We'll unload it tomorrow morning and finish baling the rest of our hay.
