A JD 850 is a little different than a Yanmar decal tractor. The JD where built to JD Specs. That made them a little different. An example of this was live pto, it was an option on the JD 850 but not on the Yanmar of the same size. These little compact tractors would take a real pounding and keep going. I think that they where tougher than the new Augusta built JD compacts. As for value if it is real clean it would bring $6500-7500 2wd , 4wd would be $7500-9000. Check to see if it has power steering or not, deduct $750 if not. Also if it does not have power steering it will not have live pto. You could have power steering and non live pto but not live pto with out power steering. I think this was just an option code thing not a mechanical reason.
