We have some snow on the peaks year around but in this view, most of the snow will begone by late August. Those peaks are just uder 10,000 ft and we"ll see new snow in late August occaisionally and commonly after labor day. We don"t generally have snow at our elevation( ~ 3200 ft)till after Thanksgiving. Since I"ve lived here(8 years) we havn"t had snow on the ground any longer than a meonth. We get chinooks out of the SE that clear two feet of snow virtually overnight. It"s kid of a "banana belt" and the Indians wintered here because the weather is relatively mild. We get some cold temps(-40F overnight) but, in general, not long cold spells. We"ve gotten most of our snow since I"ve been here in December, January and early February. We generally get an early cold snap of zero degree weather at Haloween and last year we had -5 F in early October.
