They may be bluffing, or they may have decided they no longer need a tower in that location. The only way you'll know is to call their bluff.
What were the terms of the original lease? I seriously doubt you had a year-to-year lease; more likely it was for a set number of years with an option to renew. Better get that lease out and read it: are you sure they have to remove the tower if the lease is not renewed?
