I have a 603, the 6 foot version of the 503. I bought it new at least 10 years ago. It's beat up now, but it's cut a lot of weeds. Some of them higher than the hood of the tractor. I have not had any problems with it yet. They are considered a light duty cutter. Make sure that 503 has a slip clutch. You don't want a shear bolt machine.
