Jim- Penfield was again a great show, but my "gotta do it all" attitude kinda wore me out. Got up Sat morning at 5:30, loaded up the first load (G705 and 560), up to the show, back for second load (1175, plow, golf cart) and unloaded at Penfield by about 1:30. Got on the 560, fired it up and snap went the injection pump shaft, dead tractor. Hit the field with the G705 and plowed for a while, cooled off and got ready for the pulls. LOTS of tractors! Two sleds running. Made a pass with the 705, didn't do so good, made a pass with the 1175, had to hit the brakes at the road to keep from running over the spectators. I guess the sled malfunctioned- the old thing don't like speed very much. Came back last and made a solid run near the top of the pack, but one of my new injector lines was leaking. Got home about 11:00. Sun morning loaded up some tools and back up to fix the tractors. 1175 was easy, but found the pump problem on the 560, no fixy. Crowd really thinned out on Sun afternoon, but still had quite a few tractors for the pull. Won with the 1175, but not many in the class. Now for the hard part- gotta get all the junk home. PITA getting the 560 on the trailer, but got the first load home by about 8:00, back up for the second load, and home by 11:00. Two loooong days with not much sleep, but fun anyways. Didn't get hardly any time to look at the show stuff, and way too much time hauling. Not gonna do that next year- one load only! Didn't take one picture, hope somebody will post some. More red tractors than you could count- I'd guess 400+? and plenty of others also. Hot, but no rain for once. The club members really work their tails off for this deal, and it makes for quite the event. Can't wait till next year!
Can't make the Homecoming- leaving on vacation Fri evening for a week, so will miss Stanford, probably won't pull the antiques till Minier, hope the 560 will be fixed by then. Maybe I'll bring the 900 and the "900". See you then.
