Find the wire from the switch that feeds voltage to your solenoid. Use a volt meter to see if there's voltage on that terminal when you twist the key to make a start. If there's no voltage, there should be a feed wire that feeds battery voltage to your switch use your volt meter to see if there's voltage to your switch. If there's voltage to your switch and none when you twist the key the switch may be defective. You need to make sure your shifter is in neutral and there could be any the safety switches used that may be defective. Do as Chris suggested and jumper the solenoid.
