In central MN, had a nice dry 5 days before Memorial Day to cut the 1st crop of alfalfa, got about 700 bales. got another 1st crop of alfalfa/timothy for the horses,200 bales, before Independence Day. Have had the mower ready to go for 2 weeks to cut 2nd alfalfa crop, but can't get more than 2 or 3 days in a row without rain in the forecast. Hasn't rained at our place most of the times that they predicted it, but I'd rather not take the chance. Alfalfa is nearly in full bloom now, but I'd rather let it get more mature than have it rained on. The water in the marshes is finally starting to dry up, but probably have to wait another month to dry up enough to cut the lowlands.
