It's not holier than thou or arrogance. It's wondering why people engage in such an obviously harmful habit. I don't believe in taxing it as a means to stop people from harming themselves, but as with alcohol or drugs, why hurt yourself? And that doesn't even begin to cover the fact it stinks, harms those around you and contributes to the rising health care costs of those of us that don't use it.
Personally, I pity those that started and can't quit. That's got to be tough and expensive.
