JD Some bad events at W.M., some not so bad. Former full time diesel pilot, now retired. Have been to many W M distribution centers, the one at Denver must be fairly new, never been to that one. The drop & bobtail to office area is a company or insurance carrier rule. Long ago a driver pulled out too soon & dumped a forklift on ground. If not enough room at parking area, drop & pull away 3 or 4 feet, yard jockey puts pin lock on trailer, takes it off when office gives OK. Can't comment on mis-count, but it has happened that the loader has accidently put more on my load than called for, or a loader hit the wrong door. Took load of TVs to a D C. Were stacked 4 high, all the same model. Foreman said I needed to help, put 2 stacks, 4 high on a pallet. 4 rookies getting in each other's way. Grabbed a 2-wheeler, scooped up 2 stacks, set on pallet with serial numbers showing, took about 15 seconds. Head rookie decide he could do that, sent me to waiting area,handled full load by himself in 40 minutes, was alloted 2 hours. Several years ago, W M had a display close to checkout, favorite soft drink, buck a 6 pac, so grabbed some. Rookie cashier pulled cans out of plastic holder, scanned cans at buck each. Stopped her, called supervisor, pointed to display 10 feet away. Super voided entire sale, started over at right price. Only took a couple minutes. Ya win some, ya lose some. Willie

Today's Featured Article - Show Coverage: Journey to Ankeny - by Cindy Ladage. We left Illinois on the first day of July and headed north and west for Ankeny, Iowa.
