I wouldn"t "fool around" with any of those other makes seeing as you"re already into JD's. I'd be patient and try to find a good 4040, 4230 or 4240, they're usually somewhat cheaper than a 4440 (as you must already know) and unless you've got problems with JD's for some reason you're able to use your same dealer for parts and service. Having different brands of tractors used in a serious farming operation is sometimes an adventure that's no fun...depends on your own opinions of course.
