I believe I would be getting a new thermostat control...apparently yours isn't working. Nothing else I can think of that would cause this problem. If it ran for years with the 3800 watt element and this control and now it doesn't...the only other thing it could be is the control. A heating element can be tested with an ohm meter, preferably a digital one cause they don't have very much resistance but it will have some. They're just a big resistor like on your tractor, the control just controls the amount it heats the water. If it doesn't show continuity...it is burnt in two somewhere. Thats my two cents worth. ohfred
