Small stuff. When going to europe, Hands down the United States Postal service. yes UPS and Fed Ex have international service but they charge a arm and a leg for it.
Only problem I ever had with USPS is I had a guy say it never came. Course he also wanted me to lie on the customs form and his rep on ebay was questionable also.
As to the larger items I am really not alot of help but look into LTL carriers. They usually have a way to get things there. Just prepare to open up your wallet.
