Time to replace our ageing Farmall 460 and Ford (4cyl.) 4000 with something newer. Looking not to spend over 15k. We have lots of hills and lots of wet low ground. Love the sound of that 6cyl. 460 but too big for what we use it for. 80 acres (50 woods, 20 swamp/house/yard, 10 tillable.) While we are not afraid to work on machines (replaced water pumps, radiators, hyd pumps, etc.) my dad is getting on in years and we just don't want to spend half our time keeping the older iron running any more. We do tillage, planting, bush mowing, little loader work, black blading, snow removal, etc. All that being said there are a few machines in the area for sale that have peaked our interest. CaseIH 485 MFWD, rops, loader, 4k hrs ($13k) / 93 Ford 3930 MFWD, rops, loader, 2 hyd., 3.8k hrs ($13k) / 99 Ford 3930 2wd, cab, no loader, 4 hyd., 1500 hrs ($10k) / caseih 585, 2wd, rops, 3k hours ($8k) Leaning toward the 93 3930 but haven"t seen it yet. Thoughts? Thanks!
