A dirt throwing auger for building Terraces on side hill Farms. Repeated trips with the auger in gear throwing dirt up hill to form the Terrace . Worked in conjunction with a mold board plow which broke ground for the auger to function in.Local Soil Conservation Districts would buy one to allow Farmers to use it to construct soil saving terraces. A lot of terrace and water way construction went on during the mid and late '30's and after WW2 soil conservation got going in a big way and is still an issue on a lot of farms world wide right up till present day.We can't afford another series of "Dust Bowl" years.
