I'd much rather deal with 100 degrees instead of 0. Give me summer anytime. I can wipe sweat off with a rag, but cold goes to the bone.
Recently went on a bus tour with a number of elderly people on a 100 plus degree day and about the same in humidity. The oldsters who grew up without a/c handled it much better than some of us younger folk. Back then, people stayed out of the house as it got too hot. Much better on the porch or in the shade under a tree. Neighbors actually knew and saw their neighbors every day. Things have changed. No more couches on the front porch except in the south.
