A couple of years ago I got a Kodak digital camera that was probably worth $200. A year later, it was broke and wouldn't do anything. I called their repair line and was told that the warranty had expired, but they would fix it for $100. It didn't matter if they found out that there was no problem or if it had multiple problems, the fix would cost $100. (Plus shipping) Or they would take $100 off of one of their high collar cameras if I would just trade mine in. I declined and bought a different brand.
