The alternator on the Deutz D4006 seems to have gone bad. By the book, it was 14V 18A. When the "suitable replacement" arrived it's listed as 12V 33A. Here's the question...since this has an external regulator, do I need to replace the regulator also? I'm thinking the regulator is just going to maintain 12V regardless of the alternator, but don't want to make a potentially expensive mistake.
