Here is the question I always ask to those who brag up the one particular brand they happen to own - did you engineer and build this tractor yourself? If you did not, then you have no reason to brag about it. Go out and build your own tractor from scratch without any help from anyone else, then you will have bragging rights!
Every one on this board who has bought a tractor either wrote a check or handed over some cash and hauled or drove it home. We crank up the pump and brag about the power increase we got out of it, but someone else designed that into the tractor. All we did was turn a screwdriver. End of rant!! Jim

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
