That being said, I've never owned a John Deere tractor, (combines, yes), but once when I was working on some waterways I borrowed a 4020 from the fellow who leases our farm land. I never did figure out how to shift the darned thing. I'd just play around with the shifter till I found something that went the direction I wanted to go and lived with the result.
