Both the case and white are rugged, reliable tractors in my opinion. They both have a few engine issues but from there back are good machines. A 1370 case would probably be a better comparison to a 2-135. The case 1175, if i remember right has the standard 8 speed, so you will have to stop to shift speeds, the white has the over under in each speed so it gives you partial powershifting. The case has the outboard planatary, so you will be limited to wheel spacing, the white has inboard planataries and straight axles. The case has the 451, which is not as good as engine as the 504 case engine in my opinion and has some sleeve issues, but if its recently been gone through you should be good to go. The white has a good engine and more horsepower than the case 451, but if it goes down it is a very expensive engine to overhaul. The neighbors 2 -155 went down a few years ago and it was 14,000 to go completely through it. I think the white has only a single 1000 pto shaft, and I think the case you will be able to shift from 540 to 1000, if its like the smaller cases. Don't know much about a 5088, I think they are also a good machine, but probably quite a bit more money than the other two. My opinion on the two tractors, its your money. :*)

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
