They're built in India by Escorts tractor, originally a subsiduary of Ford. It's not independant... but the designs are largely based on the Ford 3600/4600 tractors with some changes. Farmtrac USA went belly up in late 2008 and it's assets were acquired by Montana tractors... They since consolidated their operations to Tarboro NC; Farmtrac's former headquarters... I assume that they are continuing to support Farmtrac tractors. Google Montana or Farmtrac...

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
